To share your health records with 23andMe, you will need to complete two steps: (1) connect your health records to Apple Health, and (2) link your health records to your profile. Connecting your health records to Apple Health
Follow these steps to sign in to your healthcare provider account on Apple® Health to link your electronic health records to your 23andMe profile. For iPhone® users only.

Open the Apple Health app.

On the Summary tab, tap on your profile picture in the upper-right corner.

Under Features, tap Health Records.

On the next screen, tap Get Started.

Search for your healthcare provider by name, hospitals, networks, or locations or choose from a list of providers.

Once your healthcare provider is selected, tap Connect Account on the next screen. Please note this screen will look different depending on your healthcare provider.

Sign in to your healthcare provider account using your username and password.
Your healthcare provider username and password is never stored by 23andMe.

Review the healthcare provider’s consent form.

If you choose to authorize permissions, wait for your records to update.

Your electronic health records are ready to be linked to your 23andMe profile.
Linking your health records to your 23andMe profile
- Open the 23andMe app.
- On the Home page, scroll down to “Track your health data”.

Tap on the Lifestyle Dashboard.

Click on “Connect to Apple Health” to link your health records to your 23andMe profile.

Follow the prompts on your iPhone to complete linking your health records to 23andMe.
How to authorize additional health data to be shared with 23andMe from the Apple Health app
- Open the Health app.
- Tap your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
- Under Privacy, select Apps and Services. You can see here all downloaded apps that are compatible with the Health app.
- Tap the 23andMe app and turn on the health categories you want the app to track.

If you do not have a username and password for your healthcare provider, you can create one by following the directions on your healthcare provider’s website to register for an account.
