When you opt-in to 23andMe’s 2-step verification using SMS, we will send you a text message with a verification code each time you attempt to sign in. We will not use your phone number for any other purpose without receiving separate consent from you.
Note: SMS 2-step verification is not available in all countries.
Cancellation
To stop receiving text messages from us, sign in to your 23andMe account and select an alternative 2-step verification method from your account settings in order to unenroll from SMS-based 2-step verification.
For phone numbers in the United States, Canada, and their territories, you can also opt out of receiving text messages from us at any time by texting the word “STOP” to our phone number. However, doing so may leave you unable to log in to 23andMe services. To continue receiving verification codes, you can opt back into receiving text messages by texting us the word “START”.
